المتحدثون في منتدى القيادة للمثقفين الجامعيين 2018

يستضيف منتدى القيادة للمثقفين الجامعيين بعض أشهر مدربي الحياة والمتحدثين المُلهمين على الصعيد العالمي الذين يؤمنون بأن جميع المثقفين الشباب يتمتعون بالحكمة والقوة بداخلهم لتشكيل حياتهم كما يشاءون. لقد اكتسب متحدثونا المُلهمين الشهرة والتقدير العالميين لعملهم الإنساني. وقصصهم المُلهمة في الصمود في وجه الشدائد والأمل المفقود أكبر برهان للقوة الاستثنائية التي تتمتع بها الروح البشرية. يدرك هؤلاء الإنسانيون بأن هناك أشخاص تعرضوا للظلم من أنظمتنا وأشخاص تم التعدي على حقوقهم ويستحقون مساعدتنا وعطفنا؛ ويعد عملهم ومثابرتهم إلهاماً للعديد من الناس. فيما يلي مُلخص عن بعض متحدثينا المُلهمين والصريحين دون خجل الذين يلقون محاضرات في غاية الإلهام.


Professor Tan Eng Chye
President
National University of Singapore


Professor Tan Eng Chye is the National University of Singapore’s (NUS) 5th President and he will be the 23rd leader to head Singapore’s oldest higher education institution, which traces its roots to a modest medical school founded in 1905.

Prof Tan obtained his Bachelor in Mathematics at NUS and his PhD at Yale University. He joined NUS as a faculty member in the Department of Mathematics in 1985. Prof Tan's research interests are in the Representation Theory of Lie Groups and Lie Algebras, and Invariant Theory and Algebraic Combinatorics.

Prof Tan was a pioneer architect of the current academic system in NUS, and has seeded many initiatives such as the Special Programme in Science, University Scholars Programme, University Town Residential College Programme, Grade-free Scheme, Technology-enhanced Education, etc.
Geraldine Cox
President and Founder
Sunrise, Cambodia


Geraldine Cox, started her career with the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs in 1970. Her first posting was to Phnom Penh, where she experienced life in a country at war when the Vietnam War spilled over into Cambodia. After resigning from the government in 1987 she worked for 8 years with the Chase Manhattan Bank in Sydney before deciding to live in Cambodia in 1996.

Geraldine’s original experiences in Cambodia never left her and on a return visit in 1993 she became involved in helping an orphaned Cambodian child. From that small beginning Geraldine co- founded what is now the Sunrise Children’s Villages.

Pan MacMillan published Geraldine’s autobiography, Home is Where the Heart Is in 2000 and Hollywood bought the rights to make a feature film based on her book. The documentary, My Khmer Heart, won the Hollywood Fil Festival Documentary of the Year Award in 2000 and has since been bought and screened by HBO and Discovery Cable Channels.

Geraldine will share her extraordinary life and it will truly inspire you. Her story will make you laugh, cry and most of all, think.
David Begbie
Founder
Crossroads Foundation, Hong Kong


David Begbie, the founder of crossroads, a NGO that aims to connect those in need with people who can help, identifies himself as being an ordinary man who stumbled upon a need in the world and found his calling. After founding Crossroads, David has become a world leader for humanitarian issues and has dedicated his life to finding the need in the world and helping to meet it. Through the simulations, his organization has created, he has changed people’s lives in a matter of minutes. David has witnessed millionaires cry, people standing up to take charge and become inspired to make a difference. David is a down to earth, driven and a committed individual.

Over the past 12 years David has become the spokesperson fir Crossroads. He has been a guest at TED, where ideas worth spreading are shared. Through the press, business corporations and the United Nations events he has spoken about his work. He represented his work in South East Asia, Western Europe, Eastern Europe, Central Asia, African and the United States.

In 2007, David received the Hong Kong Humanity Award to honour his outstanding humanitarian contribution. Each year, many attendees of the World Economic Forum, such as UN Secretary-General, Ban Ki-moon, British tycoon, Sir Richard Branson participated in his simulation exercise. David continues his passion on charging people’s lives and rising world-wide awareness for global issues. David will speak on what young people could do to help those in need.
Tim Peters
Helping Hands, Korea


Tim Peters, an American is known to many as the world’s most visible advocate for human rights in North Korea. Peters has devoted himself to helping North Koreans in crisis escape the oppression from their government and its regulations. In 1996, Tim Peters founded Helping Hands Korea and officially committed himself to actively helping North Koreans by partnering with like-minded individuals. In the face of public criticism, the never ending challenges and the risk Peters faces each day he has never wavered his dedication, faith and support for the refugees he helps.

As an American, Tim Peters has given three testimonials to the United Sates Congress and has pressured the government to take action and step in. Finally in 2005, the American government accepted its first North Korea refugee. In 2007, Peters was nominated for the Nobel Peace Prize and was shortlisted as a finalist. In 2008, Peters was awarded the Stephen’s Prize from the Norwegian NGO “Norwegian Mission to the East.” Peters has been recognized by many international publications including TIME magazine which did a cover story on him.

Peters appears as a soft-spoken individual but the power and commitment he possess makes him an influential leader. Each day, Peters faces the risk of getting caught, possibly killed but his commitment of bettering the North Koreans lives outweigh the possible consequences. Today, Peters still continues to help North Korean’s refugees. He will share on his works of helping the North Korea refugees at the USLS.
Professor Peter Mathieson
President and Vice-Chancellor
University of Hong Kong


Professor Mathieson was born and educated in the United Kingdom. He attended a state grammar school in Penzance, Cornwall, becoming Head Boy in 1977. He was awarded an unconditional offer of a place to read Medicine at the London Hospital Medical College in 1978 and graduated from the University of London with First Class Honours in 1983. After junior medical posts in London, he obtained a research training fellowship from the Medical Research Council (MRC) to study at the University of Cambridge. He was awarded a PhD by the University of Cambridge in 1992.

Professor Mathieson then became Director of Studies for Clinical Medicine at Christ’s College, Cambridge. After a further MRC fellowship he moved to Bristol in 1995 as the foundation Professor of Renal Medicine at the University of Bristol and Honorary Consultant Nephrologist, North Bristol NHS Trust.

He was elected Fellow of the Academy of Medical Sciences in 1999. Between 2003 and 2007 he chaired the Research Grants Committee of Kidney Research UK. He was a member of the Renal Association Clinical Trials committee from 1996 to 2007 and the Chairman between 2000 and 2003. In 2007 he was elected as President of the Renal Association (the youngest in its history) in a competitive election by its membership and also became Head of the University Department of Clinical Science at North Bristol. In the same year he was appointed Director of Research & Development for the North Bristol NHS Trust. He served the full three-year term as President of the Renal Association and remained a Trustee for a further two years as Immediate Past-President.

In 2008 Professor Mathieson was appointed Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Dentistry at the University of Bristol. Following the formation of Bristol Health Partners, he was appointed the founding Director in May 2012, a role which he undertook alongside the role of Dean.

In February 2018 Professor Mathieson will take up office as Principal of the University of Edinburgh.
Professor Ian Jacobs
President and Vice-Chancellor
University of New South Wales, Australia


Professor Ian Jacobs has been President and Vice-Chancellor of UNSW Australia since February 2015. Prior to this he was based in the UK as Dean of Medicine at University College London from 2009-2011 and Vice President of the University of Manchester from 2011-2015.

He studied medicine at Cambridge University and the University of London before specialising in surgical treatment of women’s cancers at St Bartholomew’s Hospital and University College Hospital in London. In the last 30 years he led a research team working on the early detection and risk prediction of cancer focusing particularly on screening for ovarian cancer which had led to grant awards of more than £50m, over 400 publications and an H-Index of more than 70.

In 2005 Professor Jacobs established the Uganda Women’s Health Initiative which conducts a series of projects in Uganda, including a screening programme for cervical cancer. He has been President of the British Gynaecological Cancer Society and the European Society of Gynaecological Oncology. He is Emeritus Trustee of the Eve Appeal Charity which he founded in 1985 and a non-Executive Director of Abcodia Ltd, a medical diagnostics company he founded as a spin out from his research in 2010.

Since joining UNSW in February 2015 Professor Jacobs has taken on a number of additional roles in Australia including: Honorary Senior Principal Research Fellow of the Garvan Institute; Board member of Research Australia; Chair of the Australian Conservation Foundation¹s Leadership Forum for Energy Transition; board member of the Business / Higher Education Round Table Board (BHERT); Lead Vice-Chancellor for Universities Australia on Equity and Diversity; Chair of the Sydney Partnership for Health Education, Research and Enterprise (SPHERE); and Deputy Chair of Group of 8 Universities.
فرانسيس كونج
متحدث ومؤلف مُلهم
الفلبين


يعد فرانسيس جيه كونج أحد المتحدثين الذين يحظون باحترام كبير في الفلبين وكان أحد جائزة الفيليبينيين المتفوقين عام 2014. فرانسيس رجل أعمال وكاتب عمود ومذيع ومؤلف كتب ومتحدث مُلهم.

في مجال ريادة الأعمال، يتمتع فرانسيس بخبرة واطلاع جيدين في مجال التصنيع وبيع التجزئة. ولقد أسس علامة تجارية شهيرة للملابس وأدارها بشكل ناجح لمدة 17 عام. كما أنه غامر في مجال تجارة التجزئة وتولى علامة تجارية إيطالية في عالم الموضة وسوّقها وأدار عملياتها لعدة سنوات. وقام فرانسيس أيضاً بتأسيس Funworks Inc. و Success Options Inc. التي بدأت كشركة للنشر أما الآن فهي تقدم التدريب وخدمات الاستشارة في مجال تطوير الأعمال التجارية والوظيفة والحياة. كما أنه شارك بتأسيس Inspire وهي شركة استشارة في مجال القيادة.

وفي مجال عمله كمستشار للأعمال التجارية، فهو يعمل كمستشار في بعض أفضل الشركات التجارية في الدولة. وكمدرب شخصي، قام فرانسيس بإرشاد العديد من أفضل قادة الأعمال في البلاد. أما في عمله في مجال الإذاعة، يدير فرانسيس برنامجاً على الراديو يُدعى Business Matters على قناة DZFE-FM 98.7.

كمتحدث و مدرب قدم فرانسيس ما معدله 300 جلسة نقاش في الندوات والمؤتمرات على الصعيدين المحلي في الفلبين والخارجي وعلى نحو سنوي. أما في مجال التأليف، فلقد لّف 18 كتاباً.

حاز فرانسيس على جائزة Anvil Award for Excellence لإدارته لسلسلة ندوات د جون ماكسويل، وعلى جائزة Gold Quill Award لفئة أفضل خطاب عام من تقديم الرابطة الدولية للاتصالات التجارية.

كما أتم فرانسيس أيضاً دورة "علم اللاهوت الدفاعي والفلسفة" في جامعة أكسفورد وندوة "إدارة نفسك وقيادة الآخرين" في برنامج التعليم المستمر في جامعة هارفارد.
سيمرجيت سينغ
متحدث مُلهم دولي ومدرب أداء
الهند


سيمرجيت سينغ هو متحدث مُلهم دولي ذائع الصيت يعمل على تدريب الشباب والطلبة على البحث عن الذات الداخلية والاحتفال بها وسط ضجيج الرأي العام. وعلى مدى العقد الماضي، اشترك مع أكثر من 200 منظمة حول العالم لمساعدتها في الوصول إلى المستوى التالي من النجاح.

مهمته هي مساعدة العقول الشابة على تحديد فهمها للنجاح وعلى الاحتفال بذاتها الداخلية. وتوفر خطاباته وجلساته التفاعلية وجهة نظر جديدة حول الغرض من الحياة توصل إليها بعد أكثر من عقد من العمل مع الشركات التجارية والمعاهد التعليمية والمنظمات غير الربحية على الصعيد العالمي.

خلفية سيمرجيت غير تقليدية، تماماً كمنهجه. فهو يعتقد أن الحكمة غير التقليدية تتناسب مع الشباب أكثر من غيرها. ولقد اختار أن يترك حياته المهنية الناجحة في مجال حسن الضيافة ليحقق حلمه. فمن خلال مشاركته لما تعلمه من تجربته، يُلهم الطلبة والشباب على تسخير قوتهم الشخصية لتحقيق أهدافهم.

الاعتقاد الأساسي بالنسبة له هو أن جميع الناس في جميع الأماكن يملكون بداخلهم إمكانيات تفوق تلك التي يستخدمونها حالياً. وهدف سيمرجيت هو مساعدة جمهوره أولاً في التعرف على نقاط قواهم ومن ثم إثارة دوافعهم لتمكينهم من تسخير مواضع القوة هذه لتحقيق النجاح.
